چکیده

Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is an emerging technology to enhance the spectral and energy efficiency of wireless communications cost-effectively. This letter considers a new multi-IRS aided network where cascaded line-of-sight (LoS) link established between base station (BS) remote user by leveraging multi-hop signal reflection selected IRSs. As compared conventional single-/double-hop IRS system, system provides more pronounced path diversity cooperative passive beamforming gains, especially in environment with dense obstacles. However, challenging joint active/passive beam routing problem also arises for maximizing end-to-end channel gain. Furthermore, number IRS-associated coefficients increases drastically hops. To tackle above issues, this we propose efficient training based solution considering use practical codebook-based BS/IRS without need explicit estimation. Instead exhaustively or sequentially searching over all combinations active patterns each route, distributed scheme proposed reduce complexity, exploiting (nearly) time-invariant BS-IRS inter-IRS channels among BS IRSs’ controllers. Simulation results show that our design achieves gain close sequential search, but at much lower overhead complexity.

Distributed Routing Scheme in Multi- channel Multi-hop Wireless Networks

In this paper, we propose a new distributed routing protocol designed for multi-channel wireless networks. The proposed routing method consists of two major parts, relay and sub-channel assignment to find the largest spectral efficiency, and relay selection in each hop, using a probability base scheme. The PBS improves the accessibility by reducing the number of hops and traversed distance in t...

Distributed routing algorithms for multi-hop ad hoc networks using d-hop connected d-dominating sets

This paper describes a distributed algorithm (generalized d-CDS) for producing a variety of d-dominating sets of nodes that can be used to form the backbone of an ad hoc wireless network. In special cases (ordinary d-CDS), these sets are also d-hop connected and has a desirable “shortest path property”. Routing via the backbone created is also discussed. The algorithm has a “constant-time” comp...

Intelligent Multi-hop Video Communications

In this paper, we present an intelligent multi-hop communications architecture for quality video delivery over networks. The key to this architecture is the insertion of relays with different levels of intelligence along the end-to-end path that coordinate with each other and the end-systems. The main objective is to achieve a synergy among these strategically deployed relays and end-systems to...

Multi-hop Multi-band Intelligent Relay-Based Architecture for LTE-Advanced Multi-hop Wireless Cellular Networks

In recent years, the cellular spectrum has become very crowded due to the tremendous success of mobile communications. However, a large portion of the electromagnetic spectrum assigned to other services is used sporadically only. A first step towards cognitive radio can be implemented in LTE-advanced networks by sensing the available frequencies and exploiting the existing radio spectrumopportu...
